Brandenburg Gate, Berlin
Anniversary production at the Brandenburg Gate, where I ran technical direction and co-designed the stage. Design decisions and structural feasibility were not settled one after the other but at the same time — inside the tight constraints of an inner-city heritage site with narrow build-up windows.

Kraftwerk Berlin
Immersive concert and event series across several rooms running in parallel. Kraftwerk is a listed industrial building with no permanently installed event technology: every truss, every cable run and every escape route is planned, built and struck for the production.

Multi-room production with an international line-up. Responsibility from awarding the trades through construction scheduling to delivery, with the crowd management and build-up logistics a sold-out venue of this size demands.

Zeche Zollverein & Sportpark Essen
Eight months as the central point of contact for two competition venues: overlay planning and construction timelines, coordination of service providers, alignment with internal departments during planning, and on-site operations during the games. Zeche Zollverein is a UNESCO World Heritage site, temporarily converted for competition use.
Bodø, Norway
Opening ceremony north of the Arctic Circle, in the Norwegian winter. Limited local availability of equipment and crew, long delivery routes, and weather conditions that have to be factored into build-up, material choices and scheduling from the outset.
Semperoper Dresden, then Hong Kong
An opera with artificial intelligence as a performer: a walkable staircase sculpture serving as projection surface, where image, light and performers have to land in exactly the same place. After the Dresden premiere came the adaptation for Hong Kong — same production, different house, different equipment, different regulations.
Stage design, sightlines, rigging loads and escape routes are settled in the model, not on site. What stands up cleanly in CAD saves days during build-up — and a great many arguments with the trades.

Creative teams develop images, trades build structures. In between sits the work that decides whether one becomes the other: what is feasible, what it costs, who supplies it, in what order it gets built, and who carries responsibility for what. That is where I work.
